Down To Earth Azomite, the “A to Z Of Minerals Including Trace Elements,” is a natural trace mineral product formed from the dust of an ancient volcano in central Utah. Azomite can improve plant and root system growth, crop yields, quality, and flavors as well as re-mineralize nutrient-depleted soils. This powder grade is ideal for blending with other fertilizer materials or amendments as a trace mineral resource to help meet plant nutritional needs. It can be applied directly or in combination with composts, fertilizers, manures or soil inoculants.
Applications:
Vegetable Gardens & Flower Beds: To prepare smaller gardens, apply 1/4 cup per square foot and thoroughly mix into the top 3″ of garden soil in spring or fall. For larger gardens, apply 1-2 lbs per 10 square feet and thoroughly mix into the top 3″ of garden soil in spring or fall. For new transplants, add 1 tbsp. per hole, mix into soil and water in well.
Containers: For new plantings, add 2-3 tbsp. per gallon of soil and mix thoroughly or add 0.5-1 lb per cubic yard. For established plants, lightly mix 1 tbsp. per gallon into the soil surface every other month during the growing season.
Trees, Shrubs & Vines: Spread 1 lb per 2″ of trunk diameter around the base outwards to the drip line, mix into soil surface and water in well. For grapes, apply ½-1 lb to the soil around each plant and thoroughly mix into soil. For new trees, prepare transplant hole and mix 4-8 oz with the backfill soil. Use the amended soil to fill in around the new tree and water in well.
Row Crops/Acreage: Apply 75-150 lbs per acre initially, followed by annual maintenance applications of 50-100 lbs per acre or according to specific crop needs and soil quality.
